At Pioneer Investments in Ireland, Corporate Social Responsibility means caring for the environment and supporting charities

The Environment – Our Philosophy:
Climate change is a global problem that affects everyone. We have devised a long-term Carbon Management programme to reduce emissions internally. In partnership with EPS Consulting, we have implemented a company wide programme of carbon reduction..

Pioneer Investments’ carbon footprint has been independently assessed over a 12-month period by the Carbon Neutral Company:

Social Responsibility & Charity Work
Pioneer Investments has a well-established charities committee that support charities both locally and internationally. Our charities committee have four main charities that they support but are not limited to:

• Dublin Simon Community – works with people to help them address the many stages of homelessness, In 2007 Pioneer provided support Dublin Simon to allow the expansion of its Resettlement service
• Barretstown – aims to provide a programme of therapeutic recreation for Children with Cancer and other serious illness. In 2007, Pioneer sponsored a cottage at the camp for a year. During this time, it was home for 12 families from Ireland, the UK and Spain.
• Special Olympics Ireland – Special Olympics runs sports training and competition programmes for people with learning and physical disability.

In addition, to the charities above Pioneer also offers one off support to various charities ; for example in 2007 we purchased a washing machine and dryer for Alzheimer’s Ireland.

Pioneer Investments supporting staff supporting charities:
Each year the Charity Committee is given a significant budget from Pioneer Investments that is entirely dedicated to Charities

The money raised by staff for their chosen charities can be matched up to €500. This year more than €25,000 is available for sponsorship matching and ad-hoc sponsorship requests. In 2007 Pioneer Investments and its employees helped over 20 charities including, Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, Focus Ireland and the ISPCC
